ANNUAL STATEWIDE PROFESSIONAL CONFERENCE
Brain Injury Association of Missouri Hosted Professional Conference
St. Louis, MO – This is the 14th consecutive year the Brain Injury Association of Missouri (BIA-MO) Annual Professional Development Conference was held in St. Louis, Missouri. Each year, the Annual Conference features national and regional experts sharing current research, cutting-edge therapeutic strategies, and best practice treatment. This is the only conference in Missouri established to specifically address issues relating to brain injury.
This Conference is the premier educational opportunity for healthcare, rehabilitation, vocational, residential, and community support professionals. They gained knowledge and further developed skills in providing care for individuals who have sustained a brain injury. Sessions held on Thursday, October 4 and Friday, October 5 were of most interest to professionals who work on a regular or periodic basis with survivors of brain injury.
These professional sessions focused on rehabilitation, medical care, mental health, relationships, personal care, and employment for survivors of brain injury in rural and urban communities. This education for professionals can lead to enhanced opportunities for survivors of mild, moderate or severe brain injuries to live a quality life.

Dr. Goretzke is the Division Director of Pediatric Neurology at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital and SSM Health St. Louis University Hospital.
