Program Support

All services of the Brain Injury Association of Missouri (BIA-MO) rely on contributions. These contributions can be in the form of a private foundation grant, corporate gift or event sponsorship, or individual donation.

Fund-a-Need donations, sponsorships and grants are used for a specific service relating to support, education, recreation or advocacy of the Brain Injury Association of Missouri. Grants and sponsorships are also appreciated for fundraising events.

Support Groups

Monthly meetings are held throughout the state of Missouri for survivors of brain injury and families. Many meetings offer separate groups for persons with brain injury and one for family and friends to provide opportunities for open discussion among individuals in similar situations.

Your recurring monthly donation of $100 each month will support a group for the entire year. Make your Support Group donation now.

Information & Referral Service

We are a phone call away, when survivors of brain injury and their families do not know where to turn with questions about unknown challenges of life with brain injury. Through our Information & Referral Service, we help individuals and families identify available resources within their community.

A gift of $250 provides Information & Referral Services for one month or your annual gift of $3,000 provides this vital service for the full year. Your support ensures individuals with brain injury and families have access to help and hope. Make your Information & Referral Service donation now by using the online donation form.

Sports Concussions: Facts, Fallacies and New Frontiers

The purpose of these Seminars is to reduce the risks of concussions for youth through education for coaches and other team personnel, school nurses, and school faculty and staff.

We focus on a variety of issues related to concussions and proper concussion care for student athletes. For example, recognizing basic signs and symptoms, being aware of risk factors of concussions, and knowing what to do when a concussion is suspected are critical for the overall recovery of student athletes.

The BIA-MO Sports Concussions: Facts, Fallacies and New Frontiers Seminars are held at five locations throughout the State of Missouri: Cape Girardeau, Columbia, Kansas City, St. Louis and Springfield. Each Regional Seminar includes the same topics and are offered between January and February 2020 – The Seminars are FREE OF CHARGE for attendees.

Regional and Statewide Sponsorship are available for the Sports Concussions: Facts, Fallacies and New Frontiers Seminars. Your Sponsorship for one or more of the BIA-MO Sports Concussions Seminars is a great opportunity for you to share information with athletic directors, coaches, and school personnel. Additionally, your sponsorship keeps this program free of charge for attendees at each of the five regional seminars across Missouri.

One-Day educational seminars held at various regions to provide opportunities for survivors of brain injury and family members to learn from professionals in the field of brain injury and well as other survivors and family members. The same topics are presented at each Regional Seminar.

Through your Sponsorship, the BIA-MO Survivor and Family Regional Seminars are free-of-charge for individuals with brain injury and family members. Recognition of your generosity is included in event promotions and at the Seminars. Regional and Statewide Sponsorship packages are available.

Your Sponsorship helps families understand the new challenges of life with brain injury and how to navigate the long-term effects of an injury. Information about changes in cognition, behaviors and mobility are discussed in Seminar sessions. Treatment options for these changes are also shared with attendees.

Provide Scholarship for survivor to attend Camp

The actual cost for each BIA-MO Camper, including cabin accommodations, meals, program activities and counselor support is about $550 per person. Through generous donations, the Camper Fee is only $390 per attending survivor of brain injury living in Missouri and $475 for non-Missouri residents. However, many Campers are in need of assistance with their portion of the Camp Fee.

Please be one of the generous donors to Sponsor-A-Camper to ensure every Camper who wants to attend has the financial support to do so. Your donation of $390 or more will provide Full Scholarship assistance for a Camper to enjoy a week of fun, relaxation and independence.

Transportation

Van transportation is offered from St. Joseph, Kansas City, Columbia and St. Louis. Campers pay only $25 to ride the van. The actual cost is closer to $100 per person. Your Camp donation of $25, $100 or the full $2,500 per transportation route will enable more survivors to be able to attend the BIA-MO Camp.
