Emily, a professional who sustained a brain injury, found herself facing a recovery journey she never expected.
The Brain Injury Association of Missouri (BIA-MO) Support Groups became a “lifeline” when she needed it most. It is a place where Emily can be herself, surrounded by people who walk a similar path.
She is especially grateful that the Support Group has grown to allow survivors and caregivers to meet separately. Emily treasures her time with other survivors, discussing the unique challenges of life with brain injury. At the same time, she recognizes the importance of caregivers having a space of their own.
The experience is invaluable, and the support makes a lasting impact. After a short while away from the group, Emily misses the connection, understanding, and encouragement that the BIA-MO Support Group provides.
This ‘Mission Moment’ is made possible through support, involvement, and partnership with BIA-MO.
