A concussion is a traumatic brain injury.

It is a myth that the person must blackout or lose consciousness to sustain a concussion. More than 90% of concussions DO NOT involve a loss of consciousness by the person.

Once an individual sustains a concussion or more severe brain injury, he or she is at a greater risk of sustaining another brain injury.
