A traumatic brain injury (TBI) is an intrusion, blow, or jolt to the head or body that interrupts the normal operation of the brain. You do not have to hit your head to sustain a brain injury.
Oftentimes, there are no visible damage to the head or skull, but the changes in cognitive function and abilities impact daily living for the person injured and their family members.
