It’s time to register for the free Brain Injury Association of Missouri Survivor and Family Regional Seminars.  These educational seminars feature local experts to  provide information and practical suggestions to help face the challenges of life with brain injury. 


The same sessions are held at each location in Missouri. Each seminar begins at 8:30 am and concludes at 3:30 pm. Dates and locations are:  

  • April 6, Western Region at First Church of the Nazarene, 11811 State Line Road in Kansas City MO.  Registration requested by March 29, 2013. 
  • October 19, Eastern Region at St. Charles Convention Center in St. Charles


This year’s topics include

Foods for Brain Health

Pathways to Productivity, including time to meet with agency representatives

Special Needs Trust

Goal Setting

Survivors Success: Family Journey with Brain Injury

Medicare and Medicaid Myths


There will also be an opportunity to experience Adaptive Yoga activities.   Lunch will be provided.


These seminars are designed to bring help and hope to individuals and families newly impacted by brain injury and those many years post-injury. Come spend the day to learn helpful information, identify resources and gain support from others who understand.

Sports Concussion Educational Programs

Concussion Overview for Parents

A 15-minute presentation at meetings for sports parents includes information about the symptoms of a concussion and what to do if you think your child may have sustained a possible concussion.  An overview of Missouri's new sports concussion legislation is also discussed.
